Texas is a land of legends. At one point in Texas history, Fort Worth was a legend of its own as Hell's Half Acre, a wild accumulation of bordellos, cribs, dance houses, saloons and gambling parlors. The most famous and infamous westerners visited the Acre, including; Timothy ("Long Jim") Courtright, Luke Short, Bat Masterson, Wyatt Earp, doc Holliday, Sam Bass, Mary Porter, Etta Place and Butch Cassidy with his gang.
Richard Selcer successfully separates fact from fiction in this vibrant study of Cowtown's notorious Acre.
