SELF-GUIDED INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY MUSEUM EXPERIENCES
The Museum is open to the public during regular hours and admission is FREE. Anyone is welcome to stop by to view the collection and Gallery Guides are available at the front desk.
A self-guided visit is also a great way for families with children of all ages to explore the collection. Families can guide children through the museum using a variety of activities that we have available at the front desk such as scavenger hunts for the younger children and more in depth Young Viewer Guides for older children. (If you are a group of 10 or more please see our Group Tour options, below.)
REGULARLY SCHEDULED PUBLIC TOURS
The Museum offers regularly scheduled, docent guided, tours every Tuesday and Saturday at 2:00. Our regularly scheduled tours are FREE and open to the general public without reservations.
SELF-GUIDED GROUP TOURS
While anyone is welcome to pick up a Gallery Guide and view the collection, and admission is always FREE, we require that groups of 10 or more people make advanced reservations, which will ensure accessibility to gallery spaces. Currently, our maximum group capacity is 50 people. If you would like to schedule a self-guided group tour, please contact Kat Yount at email@example.com, call 817.332-6554 x123, or fill out our online form to request your Self-Guided Group Tour. Do not consider a tour booked until you have received confirmation from a Museum Staff member.
GUIDED GROUP TOURS
Docent guided tours can be scheduled for your group of 10 to 50 people. All guided tours are approximately one hour. Requests for a Guided Tour must be placed at least three weeks in advance so that a tour can be tailored for your group. Do not consider a tour booked until you have received confirmation from a Museum Staff member.
STUDIO ACTIVITIES | Add to any docent guided group tour
The Sid Richardson Museum houses a studio classroom where tour groups (adult or children) can experience hands-on activities aligned with docent-guided tours.
- Studio activities are an enjoyable way for adults or children to make connections with gallery tours as they use higher level thinking skills and practice creative expression with authentic mediums and techniques.
- Studio activities are provided free of charge and are approximately 45 minutes. For more information on studio activities contact Kat Yount at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 817.332-6554 x123. To see examples of hands-on activities, visit our Studio Activities page. booked until you have received confirmation from a Museum Staff member.
School tours are Guided Group Tours that may be designed to complement classroom curriculum and can be scheduled for groups of 10 to 50 students, ages 5 and above. Studio Activities can also be added to School Tours. Review our tour themes and studio activities page for information about what tours are available for your school group. HOME SCHOOL GROUPS
As a Home School Group you can take advantage of the various tours, listed above, that are appropriate for your particular group's size and student age range. The Self-Guided Family Experience is often a good choice for Home School Groups with fewer than 10 students and families with children under 5 because you can move through the gallery in your group interacting with each other. The schedule is also more flexible in that you will be free to arrive at various times and you can spend as much or as little time as your group would like on the activities. Often a staff member is available to greet your group and get them started on the activities. The museum does not currently provide guided tours for groups that have children under 5 years old. You can contact Kat Yount at email@example.com, 817.332-6554 x123 for additional information.
COMMERCIAL TOUR COMPANIES
Tour Companies are welcome to schedule Self-Guided Group Tours or Guided Group Tours for groups of 10 to 50 people. Tours are available by appointment only and guided tours last 45-60 minutes. In accordance with Museum policy, all tours are free and guided tours are conducted by trained Museum docents and staff. If your schedule permits only 30 minutes, or you prefer to let your group self-guide, guests will be greeted by Museum staff and offered a printed Gallery Guide to enhance their understanding of the collection. Click here to request your Tour. Do not consider a tour booked until you have received confirmation from a Museum Staff member.
