EDUCATION & EVENTS

The Sid Richardson Museum is a great place to experience art!  What's available?

Guided tours and studio activities provide opportunities for meaningful hands-on learning based on responses to the collection.  Special programs are scheduled to offer unique educational events to the public.  Educator Events provide professional development and relate to current curriculum.

Interdisciplinary lessons that reference TEKS and primary source materials are available on our resources page.  Also, you will find recommended readings listed to enhance study of the American West.  Docents and interns support the Education Department in our mission to continually research objects and to promote exploration and discovery through inquiry-based thought.

The Art of Story: Defining Character is an interactive glimpse into what you will find when you take The Art of Story gallery tour. The module includes excerpts from songs and stories and provides classroom activities that teachers can use to engage students and help them to understand characters, setting and action.
