PRINTS ON CANVAS

While most of us cannot afford an original painting by Charles Russell or Frederic Remington, we can take advantage of "prints on canvas". Our Museum offers many images of oil paintings by these two artists, and those of several other well-known Western artists, both on high-quality paper and as framed (click to view) or unframed canvas transfers. The prints on canvas are made by actually lifting the image off the print paper and applying it to a prepared canvas. After the canvas is dried and fitted to a stretcher it can be finished in either a smooth finish or with brush strokes. Brush strokes are achieved by using clear acrylic and going over the canvas as if actually painting the picture. When the acrylic dries it gives the impression of brush marks. The choice of smooth finish or brush strokes is that of the customer, although we highly recommend a smooth finish for night scenes since, in those, lighting can cause reflection which is not attractive. Most daylight scenes lend themselves very well to brush stroking. These prints on canvas are treated with a UV protective coating and will not fade from exposure to light, so the purchaser may enjoy them for years to come. BRONZES OF THE AMERICAN WEST

The Sid Richardson Collection of Western Art offers reproduction bronzes of the works of Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell and James Earle Fraser. These high quality 100% hot-cast bronzes, produced by the lost wax method, are available in mini, desk and full size with a polished bronze finish. Each bronze is mounted on a marble base with a plate attached giving the name of the piece and the sculptor. Height shown includes base.
